I’m a Registered Social Worker, consultant, facilitator, and the founder of Root & Rise. My work brings together Indigenous Social Work, behavioural science, trauma-informed practice, adult learning, and real experience leading inside complex community-service systems.
I have worked alongside people navigating trauma, addiction, grief, cognitive and developmental differences, family stress, justice-system involvement, and fragmented services—and alongside the staff and leaders responsible for supporting them.
That combination lets me translate between lived reality and organizational responsibility without losing the human being inside either one.

Beyond the work
Sometimes the long way is the whole point.
Outside of work, I am happiest near water, fishing, wandering through the woods, exploring a new community, or crouched down to photograph something small and strange that most people might walk past.
One of my favourite days this summer began with my partner and me simply looking for a boat ramp. We kept driving from town to town—with no real plan—until we were more than two hours from home and eventually found ourselves out on the river. The searching became the day.
That curiosity shapes how I work, too: notice what gets missed, stay open to the detour, and leave room for the way forward to reveal itself.
