Jennifer Jones, founder of Root & Rise

People are not problems to be fixed.

Behaviour, burnout, and conflict all tell us something about the conditions around them.

The Root & Rise difference

We do not ask people to become more resilient inside systems that keep wearing them down.

For organizations & teams

Healthier workplaces are built—not wished into being.

When teams are stretched thin, another generic wellness presentation is rarely the answer. Root & Rise helps leaders understand the people-and-systems side of pressure and create changes staff can actually feel.

Burnout and vicarious-trauma prevention
Healthier conflict and communication

Clear ethical boundaries

Consultation is not therapy, HR management, an EAP, or a workplace investigation.

The work is systems-focused, practical, and designed to support—not replace—your organization's existing responsibilities.

Jennifer Jones

Meet Jennifer Jones, BSW, RSW

I understand the person in the room—and the system around them.

I'm a Registered Social Worker, consultant, facilitator, and founder of Root & Rise. My work brings together an Honours degree in Indigenous Social Work, an Advanced Diploma in Behavioural Science, and experience spanning frontline care, program leadership, staff development, organizational strategy, and community services.

I have worked alongside people navigating trauma, addiction, grief, cognitive and developmental differences, family stress, justice-system involvement, and complex service systems—and alongside the teams responsible for supporting them.

That combination lets me translate between lived reality and organizational responsibility, without losing the human being inside either one.

Beyond the work

Sometimes the long way is the whole point.

Outside of work, I am happiest near water, fishing, wandering through the woods, exploring a new community, or crouched down to photograph something small and strange that most people might walk past.

One of my favourite days this summer began with my partner and me simply looking for a boat ramp. We kept driving from town to town—with no real plan—until we were more than two hours from home and eventually found ourselves out on the river. The searching became the day.

That curiosity shapes how I work, too: notice what gets missed, stay open to the detour, and leave room for the way forward to reveal itself.
